The Great Unschedule Retreat

A 6-DAY JOURNEY BACK TO YOUR ESSENTIAL SELF

November 2nd - 8th, 2025

When was the last time you woke up without an alarm?
When did you last watch the sun rise while sipping coffee in perfect silence?
Remember what it feels like to simply... be?

Dear overworked, overwhelmed, and over-it-all woman,

Remember when you used to have energy for more than just Netflix and scrolling? When weekends didn't feel like a desperate attempt to recover from your week? Yeah, me too.

If you're reading this from bed, third coffee in hand, wondering how everyone else seems to have their life figured out while you're still trying to summon the energy to make lunch today – you're in the right place.

It's Time to Come Home to Yourself

Here's the truth: you don't have to be at breaking point to deserve a pause. Maybe you're feeling the subtle weight of routine, that quiet whisper telling you there's more to life than your perfectly curated schedule. Or perhaps you're simply curious about what exists beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone.

Your life might look picture-perfect on paper – the career you've built, the goals you've checked off. But somewhere between the morning meetings and evening wind-down, you've started to wonder: Is this really all there is?

You don't need to be completely burnt out to justify taking time for yourself. Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is pause while we still have the wisdom to hear our inner voice calling for something more, something different, something true.

Whether you're feeling exhausted, uninspired, or simply ready for change – that quiet pull you feel? That's your invitation to remember who you are beyond the roles you play and the boxes you tick.

Your soul is whispering. Maybe it's time to listen.

Imagine this...

The warmth of African sunshine replaces your iPhone alarm. Instead of immediately checking emails, you check in with yourself. The morning stretches before you like an endless horizon – no meetings, no deadlines, no need to be "on" for anyone else.

Your girl dinner transforms into long, candlelit feasts with women who get it – really get it. Instead of scrolling through other people's adventures, you're living your own. Rather than falling onto the couch at the end of another meaningless day, you're falling into deep conversations under a star-scattered African sky.

This isn't just a break from your routine. It's a return to yourself.

The Magic of Breathwork

Breathwork is far more than just breathing techniques – it's your pathway back to yourself.

When you've been living at the speed of everyone else's expectations, breathwork grounds your nervous system and gently guides you back to your own rhythm. It has the profound ability to shift emotional patterns that have been running your life for years, moving energy that's been stuck and opening pathways to creativity, intuition, and self-love you thought were lost.

During our sessions at the farm, we'll practice a specific pranayama technique using two inhales followed by one long exhale. This gentle yet powerful pattern gives your mind something to focus on while your body does the deeper work – releasing emotional experiences and energetic blocks that have been keeping you stuck in old patterns. As your breathing rhythm takes over, your analytical mind steps aside, creating space for profound shifts to occur naturally.

Picture yourself lying on the soft grass of our South African farm, the ancient earth cradling your body as if welcoming you home after a long journey. The African sun warms your skin with a tenderness that penetrates deeper than surface, while the scent of orange blossoms dances on the breeze around you. Here, with the vast sky as your ceiling and the pulse of the earth as your foundation, your breath becomes a bridge between heaven and soil.

Each exhale releases what no longer serves you into the waiting earth, while each inhale draws in the wild, untamed energy of this sacred land. This is breathwork as it was meant to be – not in a sterile studio, but held by nature herself, where your healing becomes part of the eternal conversation between body and earth.

This isn't just relaxation; it's emotional detox wrapped in poetry.

Through breathwork, thousands of people worldwide have transformed limiting beliefs, healed anxiety and depression, and reconnected with parts of themselves they thought were gone forever.

At the retreat, you'll experience how this ancient practice can be your most powerful tool for coming home to yourself – body, mind, and spirit.

A Typical Day at the Farm

Imagine waking up to African birdsong, with nothing on your agenda except whatever calls to your heart.

Your mornings are yours – whether that means doing breathwork meditation, or lingering over coffee with your journal.

From there your day unfolds naturally:

Wandering through citrus or olive groves heavy with their produce

Finding a sunny spot among the flowers to finally read that book

Therapeutic massage that melt away years of holding it all together

Mind & Bodywork that helps you remember what it feels like to live in your body, not just your head

Mindful encounters with nature that ground you in the present moment

Breathing deeply as you watch the African sun paint the sky in colors you forgot existed

Curated excursions that inspire wonder without overwhelming your senses

Making and sharing family style farm-fresh meals

Candlelit dinners under star-studded skies, filled with deep conversations and genuine connection

Moments of pure silence, where you can finally hear your own thoughts again

Welcome to the farm!

The Location

Your Haven Awaits

Imagine driving down a winding dirt road, leaving behind the chaos of your daily life with each passing kilometer. 75 minutes from Cape Town, yet worlds away from your endless to-do lists and constant notifications, lies a piece of African paradise that's about to become your soul's sanctuary.

A Place Where Time Slows Down

This isn't just a farm – it's a portal to a different way of being. Where defense outposts from the 1700s have softened into sweet-scented orange groves. Where ancient stone walls that once stood guard now embrace vineyards, lemon trees, and flowering pomegranates. History doesn't just live here; it breathes through every corner, inviting you to become part of its ongoing story.

Your Soul Reset Sanctuary

As you approach, the first thing you'll notice is the silence. Real silence. The kind your busy life has forgotten exists. Then, slowly, nature's symphony takes over – the bold call of a Hadada ibis, the whisper of wind through olive trees, the distant rustle of small antelope moving through tall grass.

The golden African light here hits different. It transforms everything it touches – the mountains that stand sentinel in the distance, the rolling fields that stretch toward the horizon, and something inside you that's been waiting to wake up.

Beautifully Unpolished

Let's be real – this isn't a five-star resort, and that's exactly the point. Our home is authentically African, charmingly rustic, and perfectly imperfect. Yes, the toilet can be temperamental. Sometimes the shower runs cool. And yes, we have a resident mouse who considers herself part of the welcoming committee.

But here's the magic: in a world obsessed with perfection, this place gives you permission to be beautifully unpolished too.

Where Magic Happens

Every evening, as the sun performs its spectacular farewell dance across the sky, painting everything in impossible shades of gold and pink, you'll understand why you came. Sitting on the veranda, maybe with a glass of wine from our very own vineyards, you'll feel it – that profound exhale your soul has been craving.

This is where busy minds finally quiet.
Where tired bodies remember how to rest.
Where burnt-out spirits come back to life.

Are you ready to remember who you are beyond your roles and responsibilities?
Your sanctuary awaits.

THIS ISN'T JUST ANOTHER RETREAT

This is an invitation to remember who you are beyond your roles and responsibilities.

To shed the weight of expectations and rediscover what makes your soul light up.

My Vision

My vision for this retreat is to create a sanctuary where you can finally step off the hamster wheel and remember who you are beyond your to-do lists.

Here, there are no "should's," no "must's," no roles to play. Just space to exhale deeply, connect authentically, and simply be. Whether that means reading for hours under an orange tree, sharing stories over candlelit dinners, or watching the African sun paint the sky - it's all perfect.

Because when we step away from the noise of our lives and gather without the pressure to be anything other than who we are, something beautiful happens: we remember what matters. We reconnect with our desires. We rediscover our dreams. And we do it together.

YOUR GUEST FACILITATOR

Meet Daniela

CACAO CEREMONIES & PHOTOGRAPHY

A proud Chilena with Indigenous Mapuche blood and a well-renowned photographer.

In her travels around the world, she has blended her love for photography and her passion for helping women uncover their most authentic selves by capturing their essence through rituals and portraits.

She comes from a long line of medicine women who, for reasons of survival, have had to suppress their medicine. In this lifetime, she is on a mission to reclaim that medicine, empower generations to live freely, wildly, and wholeheartedly, and honor her ancestors' deep connection to Pachamama.

Her ancestral roots and the medicine imprinted in her DNA have led her on a journey to learn and hold traditional Mayan Cacao Ceremonies from teachers and elders around the globe. She has had the privilege of holding ceremonies in retreats and one-on-one sessions, sharing the wisdom and healing power of cacao with individuals from all walks of life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is South Africa safe for solo travelers?

Here's the beautiful thing: from the moment you land, you're not really solo at all. After arriving on the farm, you'll be surrounded by a small group of like-minded women.

Want to explore Cape Town? Absolutely! Many of our guests do, and we'll share our tried-and-tested tips for enjoying this vibrant city safely. Like any major city, it just needs common sense - stick to recommended areas, use Uber rather than walk at night, and keep valuables close. We'll point you toward the safest neighborhoods, our favorite spots, and connect you with other retreat guests who might want to explore together.

Remember: You're choosing an experience that gives you the perfect balance - independence when you want it, support when you need it, and sisters to share it with.

DO I NEED A VISA TO ENTER SOUTH AFRICA?

This depends on your nationality. Many countries including the USA, UK, Canada, and most EU countries can enter South Africa visa-free for up to 90 days. You'll find more details on specific visa requirements based on your nationality here (check the "Ordinary" column).

CAN I ARRIVE EARLY OR LEAVE LATE?

Unfortunately we won't be able to accommodate any early arrivers or late stayers. We can recommend exploring or even staying in the local village if you would like to arrive a day before or stay after. Alternatively, you may want to spend a day or two (or three) in Cape Town.

What vaccines do I need?

Please check with your doctor but there are not special mandatory vaccinations required for entry. We recommend to be up to date with routine vaccinations. Please consult your doctor for medical advice.

What happens in case of a medical emergency?

There are excellent private healthcare facilities nearby. Travel insurance is required. Local doctors on call and in the village. We of course have a first aid kit on property, and the staff is trained in basic emergency response.

What are the sleeping arrangements like?

In the Main House we have a twin room as well as a triple room. In the Guest House we have a double bed and a additional twin room. The bathrooms are shared. More details are provided in the travel guide.

is there reliable wifi?

Yes, there is wifi. While we encourage you to leave your laptop at home, and your phone in your room - we want you to embrace that digital detox. But we know that sometimes you have to be online. The connection can be a little slow at times particularly if there are many people online at the same time. We will provide more details in your travel guide.

What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a gentle yet powerful practice where we use specific breathing patterns to release tension, quiet the mind, and connect with ourselves on a deeper level. No complicated poses or spiritual experience needed - just your willingness to show up and breathe. Think of it as a practical way to press pause on the constant thinking and finally feel what's beneath all that mental chatter. Many women find it helps release what they've been holding onto - whether that's stress, old emotions, or limiting beliefs about themselves.

What is a Cacao Ceremony?

A cacao ceremony is simply an intentional gathering where we share ceremonial-grade cacao (pure, minimally-processed chocolate) as we connect with ourselves and each other. The cacao creates a subtle heart-opening effect - nothing trippy or overwhelming, just a gentle warming that helps conversation flow more easily. We use this relaxed space to reflect, set intentions, or simply enjoy being together without the pressure to network or perform. It's like a really good conversation with close friends, just with better chocolate.

i'm not very outdoorsy - is this too rustic for me?

Think less "wilderness adventure" and more "country home with a really big garden." You don't need to be outdoorsy to enjoy the view of mountains from our comfy veranda or to appreciate the scent of orange blossoms while reading your book indoors. This is about rest in a beautiful setting, not conquering nature. But you do have to access the dirt roads and sometimes lack of electricity (more on that in the travel guide).

I have dietary restrictions - can you accommodate this?

Meals are prepared together and will always consider the dietary requirements of the attendees. Your specific needs will be asked in the application and confirmed prior to your arrival so we will have to spend zero time thinking about them.

What's the weather like?

The weather obviously changes throughout the seasons but we always recommend to pay a spectrum of things. Evenings (even in summer) can be quite cool, but usually its sunny during the day. Specific details will be in your packing guide.

i'm coming alone - will I fit in?

Actually, most women come alone. There's something beautifully brave about it, isn't it? Choosing yourself, stepping into the unknown? That shared courage creates an instant bond. Some of our closest retreat friendships have formed between women who arrived alone, connected over morning coffee, and left with soul sisters. You're not just walking in alone - you're walking into a circle of women who get it.

What if I don't want to participate in everything?

Oh friend, this might be the first time in a long while where you don't have to do anything. Need to skip morning meditation to sleep in? Perfect. Rather read your book than join the creative workshop? That's exactly what your soul might need. This isn't summer camp with mandatory activities - it's your permission slip to finally listen to what you want. The only schedule you need to follow is your own.

I'm not very spiritual/into meditation - is this for me?

Let's be clear: this isn't about crystals and chanting (unless that's your thing!). When we talk about meditation, we mean those quiet moments watching the sunset with a glass of wine. When we mention spirituality, we're talking about remembering who you are when no one needs anything from you. No prerequisites required - just bring yourself, exactly as you are.

What if I'm not 'burnt out enough' for this?

There's no burnout threshold you need to meet. Some women come because they're exhausted, others because they're bored, and some simply because they're curious. You don't need to be at rock bottom to deserve rest. Sometimes the wisest thing we can do is pause before we hit the wall. If you're feeling the pull to join us, that's the only qualification you need.

I have more questions before I can make a decision

That's exactly why we start with a connection call! After you submit your application (which is free and no-commitment), we'll schedule a relaxed, honest conversation where you can ask absolutely anything. No question is too small or too silly - from "what happens if I snore?" to "can I really survive without Netflix?" I've been there, wondering about all the little details, and I'm here to make sure you have every answer you need to feel clear and confident about this decision.

Remember, applying doesn't commit you to anything, but it also doesn't guarantee a spot. It's simply the first step in us getting to know each other and making sure this is your perfect next adventure.

xxARE YOU READY?

No pretentious resort vibes – you're staying at my private farm in South Africa
